Important Dates in Sedgwick County

Democratic Party Presidential Primary: March 30-May 2, 2020

While most elections in the Wichita area are run by the Sedgwick County Election Office, presidential primaries and caucuses are conducted by the state political parties. These elections include different deadlines, voting hours, and polling sites than other elections.

The Kansas Republican Party canceled its caucus for 2020.

On March 30, the Kansas Democratic Party will automatically send mail-in ballots to all registered Democrats in Kansas. In-person voting will not occur.

  • April 7: Anyone who registered as a Democrat in Kansas after the March 30 mailing will be sent a mail-in ballot.
  • April 10-24: Any registered Democrat who has not received a mail-in ballot may request another.
  • Mail-in ballots must be mailed so they are received at Kansas Democratic Party headquarters by May 2.
