Checkout Limits

• Are back issues available?

  Yes, back issues are available for many magazines:

  • To access back issues in the Libby, by OverDrive mobile app, search for the magazine you are interested in, then tap the magazine's name or front cover to get a page with information about the magazine. Scroll down until you reach a list of previous issues, then select the one you want to read.
  • To access back issues in our OverDrive website, search for the magazine you are interested in, then select the magazine's name or front cover to get a page with information about the magazine. On this page, there is a "select another issue" dropdown menu. Select the issue you want to read.

• Do I need a mobile app to view magazines on my mobile device?

  No, the app is not required. Using your mobile device's web browser, you can access libbyapp.com and read magazines with a similar experience to the app as long as you have an internet connection. Or if you prefer the desktop reading experience, you can visit our OverDrive website.

• Can I search within a magazine?

  Yes, both the both the website and mobile app support searching within a magazine.

• What happened to Flipster?

  We began offering about 50 digital magazine titles through Flipster in 2020. With OverDrive, we are able to provide access to approximately 3,900 titles, including most of the magazines offered through Flipster. BookPage, Consumer Reports Buying Guide, and People are not available in OverDrive, but unfortunately our financial resources do not support subscribing to both platforms. Our subscription to Flipster ended on March 31, 2022.
