The Evergreen Branch Library, located at the southeast edge of Evergreen Park, first opened in the former Wichita Arts Center building on November 16, 2002. It is the second Wichita Public Library branch to hold the name; the original Evergreen branch was located in the community service center at Evergreen Park from 1973-1981.
The current Evergreen is the second largest library branch in Wichita. A renovation in 2015 added a dividable meeting space, giving the branch multiple rooms that can be rented. The branch also offers Cuentos Bilingües, a weekly bilingual English & Spanish storytime for children ages 3-5.
