Participating Locations

Watermark Books & Cafe, 4701 E. Douglas

DISCUSSION: October 13, 9 a.m.

BREW: The King Lear
Ceylon cinnamon cold brew coffee infused with lavender and orange peel, topped with a candied eyeball. On sale for a limited time only (Oct. 13 - Oct. 31).
The lavender infusion refers to King Lear "fantastically dressed with wild flowers." The cinnamon spice symbolizes King Lear's temper and self-destruction. The citrus afternote suggests a hopeful, brighter ending after Lear's suffering has led to knowledge and redemption. The eyeball candy symbolizes Gloucester's gouged out eyes as well as King Lear's literal and symbolic blindness.

SENTE: Games & Refreshments, 132 E. Douglas

DISCUSSION: October 20, 11 a.m.

BREW: Survival Instinct, lavender chai latte

Espresso to Go Go, 120 E 1st

BREW: Dark Thunder
Dark Thunder's name is dark like a flu virus that wipes out much of the earth’s population, but it offers hope in the form of sweet raw sugar, dreamy Scharffenberger cocoa powder, creamy half and half and enough caffeine to boost the lagging spirits of those left behind.

Central Standard Brewing, 156 S. Greenwood

DISCUSSION: November 4, Noon

BREW: Dr. Eleven
Dr. Eleven is a Milk Stout with coffee, blueberry and vanilla. This is a limited release and it will be on tap for the book discussion on the 4th!

Third Place Brewing, 630 E. Douglas #150

BREW: Luli Blonde
This American light ale is constructed to have a light body. The delicate, floral attributes of the old-world German hops create a perfect thirst quencher and a great sipping beer alongside your favorite book.

Hopping Gnome Brewing Company, 1710 E. Douglas

DISCUSSION: November 11, 1 p.m.

BREW: Eleven Amber
Different from other Ambers, but that’s cool. It has a stronger malt character with subtle notes of coffee, caramel, and nutty flavors. Hopped with Northern Brewer, this beer pays tribute to its Northwest roots.

Reverie Roasters at the Library, 711 W. 2nd

DISCUSSION: Information coming soon

BREW: Chocolate Chip Cookie Latte
The Chocolate Chip Cookie Latte is made with our housemade caramel sauce to give it that familiar buttery/vanilla flavor to remind you of a cookie flavor, with just a hint of chocolate. Breve makes it extra rich and creamy.
