Evergreen Temporary Outlet

 
The Evergreen temporary location will close at the end of business Friday, January 28. Holds pickup for this location is now suspended as we prepare for the move to the Evergreen Community Center and Library at 2601 N. Arkansas. Beginning January 31, you will be able to drop off materials at that location. We plan to open the building beginning on Monday, February 14.

More About Evergreen Branch Library

A temporary library outlet has been established at the Evergreen Recreation Center while the Evergreen Branch Library building, 2601 N. Arkansas, is closed for renovations. This renamed building will open with:

  • City of Wichita services: the neighborhood resource center, Library, community policing, and neighborhood inspection
  • Kansas Department for Children and Families services: prevention and protection, economic and emplyoment, rehabilitation, and child support
  • Various other program partners and services to be announced

The Wichita Public Library Board of Directors was appointed the naming advisory committee for the building. After the Library Board submitted its recommended name to the Wichita City Council, the City Council voted unanimously to call the renovated building Evergreen Community Center and Library. An announcement about the building's reopening will come soon.
