The Advanced Learning Library will open in the next few months. We are doing our best to minimize the impact on you, but there will be some disruption of services and collection availability as we transition to the new building.
To get ready for this exciting new chapter, we must begin preparing to move collections from the Central Library and perform other work needed to get the building ready for you. The following measures may impact your experience.
We appreciate your patience!
To prepare for the move to the Advanced Learning Library, holds are not available for pickup at the Central Library.
If you usually pick up holds at the Central Library, you will need to change your preferred holds pickup location to a branch library. You can change your pickup location online under My Account or by contacting any Library location.
To prepare for the move to the Advanced Learning Library, interlibrary loan services will not be available beginning Friday, April 27.
No interlibrary loan requests will be processed and no new requests will be accepted until after the Advanced Learning Library opens.
All existing requests will remain active and will be processed once the Advanced Learning Library opens.
Donated materials will not be accepted at any Wichita Public Library location until mid-June.
The Friends of the Wichita Public Library's used bookstore will cease operations beginning close of business on Monday, April 30. The bookstore will re-open in the Advanced Learning Library on a future date.
Prior to opening the Advanced Learning Library, the Central Library will need to close to move collections. Service from the Central Library will end as of 5 p.m. close of business on Sunday, May 6. Beginning May 7, return items to branch locations or to the after hours materials return at the Advanced Learning Library.
